Let’s be transparant

We meet the highest standards of social and environmental impact

We are proudly part of the b-corp community, together with more than 5.000 brands bringing sustainable change to various industries. With an overall score of 173.0, we became part of the top 3 on the Best for the World list.

We’re also the first company in the world to get a sustainable AA Ranking by the Global Sustainable Enterprise System (GPES) – an organization that assesses and supports sustainable and circular companies.

Sustainable goals

Reducing our impact every step of the way

Save water

By using up to 50% recycled textile waste as raw material, we save up to 18.000 liters of water. We don’t dye our towels to also save water. Working only with the colors we have is more challenging, but so worthy!

Zero waste

We reuse waste from different sources and also collect our own production waste. Towels with weaving errors are given to partners like Talentfabriek010 and Ressies Redesign who gives them a new purpose.

Social responsibility

Through our women project our team of local women receive financial, social and professional support. Our carriers, sewing labels and sewing products are produced by Stichting Stunt and Talentfabriek 010, who help people reintegrate into the labor market.

Save trees

The production of cardboard takes a toll on our forests. Our packagings are made with recycled agricultural waste and recycled cardboard.

Reduce CO2 emission

Our products are transported from the factory by road, train or boat. To compensate for the CO2 we inevitably still emit, we donate to Trees for all – an organization that plants new trees and protect our rainforests.

Donations

In the last 2 years, we donated up to 6% of our revenue to 9 different charities such as: Christian Refugee Relief, Talentfabriek 010Trees for all, and Free a Girl.

The future

We're just getting started

We’re continually improving our processes while still making beautiful high-quality products you can enjoy for many seasons. As we strive for 100% circularity, we’re working on inserting more and more post-consumer textile waste in our products. This way we can continue to contribute to reducing waste in our planet.

Currently, we use a minimum amount of recycled PET (8%), which is required to convert cotton waste into usable yarns. Unfortunately, when you wash your towels, small particles of plastic can be relased into the water. Our goal is to replace this material soon, which is why we’re constantly looking for other innovative solutions.

Why We Support the Black Jaguar Foundation

We are committed to create a new balance between people and planet. Sustainability is not just about protecting the environment, but also about creating a more equitable and just world. That’s why we’re proud to support the Black Jaguar Foundation, a leading reforestation organization in Brazil, and help them to make a difference.

They are working to plant 1.7 billion native trees to create the Araguaia Biodiversity Corridor and form one of South America’s largest reforestation projects. The key reasons we chose to support the Black Jaguar Foundation:

  1. Restoration of one of the most important ecosystems on Earth.

  2. Benefits for local women by providing jobs, training, and education.

  3. Commitment to transparency and accountability.

  4. Practices that have a lasting impact.

Their model is what we see as sustainable development that creates a lasting impact on the environment and on the lives of the local people.

Transparency

When it comes to sustainable business, we feel transparency is crucial. Our B-corp score reflects this. But to take this to the next level, we are now joining nature’s comeback story through the Sumthing platform, where everyone can follow the progress of our support first hand! Once executed, you’ll be able to see the impact on our site!
